The Penguin Market
On december of 2014, Lila Miller and me organized a local market for makers, designers and artisians. The challenge was to design, promote and organize the event in two weeks. The only two main ideas floating around were that it was going to be at winter and that it should be understood not just as an event or party but a market. So we came with the name: The Penguin Market. Plus it would be fun to have a penguin at the flyer.
One of the few things that I came up was the color palette, since it should be simple enough to be matched within the penguin and the flyer. It should be bright, playful and happy but warm and winter-like at the same time.
The character design of the penguin needed to be simple enough to be a logo but lively enough to be a character on it's own.
Besides the main logo and the character, 3 icon set was designed to represent what was going to be at the market: coffee, gifts and food. Three digital flyers were designed to share them on social networks, one for every icon and one for the character itself.
